No one transfuses alone. MUIY keeps the people who give you blood together and works out who is actually ready — counting the rest days since each person last gave, in the right window for a normal donation or apheresis. Your transfusion rhythm, kept for you
Log a transfusion in a tap and MUIY learns your interval — how many units, how much blood, and the pre-transfusion Hb that goes with it. Your Hb becomes a line against the target band for your type, so "am I being transfused early enough?" stops being a feeling and becomes something you can point at.
Ferritin, heart and liver — read together
Ferritin (your iron-store marker) is a blood proxy. Cardiac T2* and liver iron read the organs directly, and they don't always agree with it. MUIY puts all three on one screen and says which way the trend is going — because a ferritin that's falling is a different story from one that's stuck, and a clear heart is worth knowing about.

Chelation, with a gentle nudge and no guilt
A heads-up when your dose is due, and a tap to say it's taken. MUIY checks your dose against the standard mg/kg range for your chelator and your weight, so you can see where you sit. Miss one and nothing breaks — a skipped dose gets a reason and a fresh start, never a broken chain.

Who made this
Built by people who sit through the same transfusions
MUIY was built inside ThalFrndz, the thalassaemia community of the Maldives. Not by a health company that researched the condition, and not by a hospital that treats it — by thal friends who live it.
That's why the donor pool exists at all. It isn't a feature someone thought of in a workshop; it's the thing you're doing on your phone at 6am anyway, badly, in a chat thread. It's why a missed dose gets a fresh start instead of a broken streak, why a lab value is explained against thalassaemia rather than the general population, and why nothing in here grades you.
MUIY (މުތް) is Dhivehi for pearl. It's named in memory of Muiz — Mui — and it's built for the people he'd have wanted it to reach. It's free because that's the only version of this that made sense.
We're a small team, and we read everything that comes back to us.

It stays yours
Your records are yours — we don't sell them, we don't show ads, and you can take them out or delete them for good whenever you like. MUIY needs an account to keep them in step across your devices; they're kept on your phone so the app works offline, and synced to your own space in MUIY's database, encrypted in transit and at rest.
Only your sign-in opens it
Your records sit in your own account, walled off by row-level security. There's no dashboard that browses anyone's records — and we wouldn't read yours if there were.

Yes. No ads, no payment, nothing locked. It was built inside ThalFrndz for the thalassaemia community, not as a business.
Is this medical advice?
No. MUIY keeps your records and shows you your trends. Anything it works out is a conversation starter for your care team — they always have the final word.
Is my data private?
Your records are yours — we don't sell them, we don't show ads, and you can export everything or delete it for good whenever you like. MUIY needs an account (it doesn't work signed out) to keep them in step across your devices: they're kept on your phone so the app works offline, and synced to your own space in MUIY's database, encrypted in transit and at rest. Row-level security means only your sign-in reaches them, and there's no dashboard that browses anyone's records. The full detail is in Privacy & data inside the app.
Does it work for children and adults?
Both. Your targets and test schedule follow the age, type and treatment you set up. For children there's growth and puberty tracking against WHO references; for adults it stays out of the way unless you switch it on.
Do I need a doctor to use it?
No — you can keep your own records from day one. It's more useful alongside a care team, though, because it's built to bring your history to the appointment rather than replace it.
Where do the targets and test schedules come from?
The Thalassaemia International Federation guidelines for transfusion-dependent thalassaemia (5th edition, 2025), which is what most thalassaemia teams work from. Your own team may have good reasons to do something different — theirs is the number that counts.
Does it work for my type?
Beta thalassaemia major and intermedia, HbE/beta thalassaemia and alpha thalassaemia, whether you're transfusion-dependent (TDT) or not (NTDT).
MUIY is an information and tracking tool. It doesn't diagnose anything and it isn't a hospital system or a medical device.
